Adding GOODNESS to your water

Chris and I have been adding lots of little extras to our drinking water these days…..

Upon waking, we are juicing 1/2 of a lemon into a half litre of warm water.  We are also adding 1 tablespoon of ground flax seed, 10 drops of trace minerals & a pinch of  Himalayan sea sat.

Here is some info on each of them:

Flax seed

Grinding flax seed before consumption ensures you absorb most of its beneficial nutrients. Flaxseed provides 1.6 g of omega-3 fatty acids per tablespoon. Omega-3 fatty acids may help reduce your risk of heart disease and is intrinsic to proper growth and development and brain.

Among the many benefits of consuming fresh ground flax seed is that the fiber, so filled with nutrients, stimulates a sluggish system that is carrying extra weight. Flax seed’s inflammation fighting properties can help with inflamation. Fresh ground flax seed can help lower cholesterol levels.

Lemon Juice

A popular belief in ancient Indian medicine, or ayurveda, is that the natural acid of the lemon has antibacterial properties. Vitamin C may fight H. pylori, a bacteria in your gut.

Combining Lemon Juice & Ground Flax is said to really rev up your metabolism.  Taken first thing in the morning, before drinking or eating anything, will aid digestion throughout the day.

Himalayan Crystal Salt

In order to make table salt, natural salt is heated to high temperatures and cleaned chemically, reducing all the important minerals and leaving only sodium and chloride. This remaining salt is considered as poison to the body. To neutralize the sodium and chloride content in the salt, the body needs to sacrifice and take water from the cells. In performing this process, the dehydrated cells may die.

Himalayan Salt includes dozens of minerals and trace elements such as: calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper and iron.

Regular consumption of Himalayan Salt (both in water and the all culinary applications), provides essential minerals, trace elements, balances electrolytes, supports proper nutrient absorption, eliminates toxins, balances the body’s pH, normalizes blood pressure, and increases circulation and conductivity.

Containing all of the 84 elements found in your body, the benefits of Himalayan Salt include:

  • Regulating the water content in the body
  • Maintaining a healthy pH balance in the cells
  • Promoting blood sugar health
  • Helping reduce the signs of aging
  • Assisting in the generation of hydroelectric energy in cells
  • Absorption of food particles through the intestinal tract
  • Supporting respiratory health
  • Promoting sinus health
  • Preventing muscle cramps
  • Promoting bone strength
  • Regulating sleep
  • Supporting healthy libido
  • Promoting vascular health
  • In conjunction with water, it is essential for blood pressure regulation

Trace Minerals

Trace minerals are the catalysts for all the vitamins and other nutrients your body uses for developing and maintaining good health. Mixing with purified water, juice and food will help conduct and generate your body’s entire electrical system.

Other benefits:

Curb your cravings  – We desire food because the body needs nutrients. However, if you’re diet is full of junk food (aka low in nutrients), you will still crave more food. Eating more junk food won’t stop the cravings, BUT taking a dropper full of trace minerals can curb these cravings.

Low energy? Trace Minerals contain iron, which helps form the hemoglobin in your blood, which in turn transports oxygen to your cells.

Boost to the body’s immune system.

Facilitates the transmission of micro-electrical impulses in our nervous system.

Catalyst in the formation of new blood cells.

Increases the body’s metabolism.

Strengthens the structure of our bodies by giving us stronger teeth, bones, nails, etc.
